# Setting up your job portal

> Brand and publish your hosted careers portal — URL, logo, colours and intro text — and put it on your own website.

_Collection: Job Advertising & Portal (job-portal) — Kepler Help Center. Canonical: https://keplercrm.com/support/articles/set-up-your-job-portal/_

Every workspace gets a hosted, public **Job Portal** — a branded careers page listing your published vacancies and taking applications, with no separate website needed. Candidates can browse and apply without an account; applications wait for a recruiter's decision on the [Applicants page](/support/articles/review-inbound-applicants/).

## Configure the portal

Go to **Settings → Job board**. The page has these sections:

| Section | What you set there |
| --- | --- |
| Portal | Portal enabled , the master switch. When it's off, the public portal returns "not found", which is useful while you brand it. Also the Portal URL (e.g. /portal/acme ) and a Custom domain . |
| Put it on your website | Your website, how it shows the jobs, and step-by-step instructions for each way. See below. |
| Branding | Theme , Brand colour and Logo . Request a custom design sends the Kepler team a note about a design of your own; we reply by email. |
| Posted by | Show who posted each job — the job owner's photo, name and title on each job page. Off by default, because it publishes the person's name and photo. Each person sets their own title and photo in Settings → Profile , under On job pages ; this section shows how many have both. Without a photo, the card shows the name and title only. |
| Preview | A live preview of your portal. |
| Screening questions | Your workspace's standard screening questions, which you can add to any job's apply form. Editing one here doesn't change jobs that already use it. |

Most changes collect in the bar at the bottom of the page: click **Save** there, then open your portal URL to check the result. The logo and the screening questions save on their own. The portal is mobile-first, so test it on a phone too.

## Theme and preview

Choose a theme in **Branding**:

  - **Bento** (default) — brand-forward: a deep header in your colour, rounded role cards and a filter rail.

  - **Ledger** — editorial: warm paper, serif headlines and a ruled list, with your colour as an accent.

  - **Index** — utilitarian: a white page with black rules, a numbered table and monospace details.

  - **Atlas** — a brand-coloured header, clear role rows and a focused job page.

  - **Grove** — a soft introduction, department-grouped roles and spacious reading.

  - **Signal** — strong typography, compact filters and a two-column role grid.

The **Preview** section re-renders as you change settings, using your published roles or sample ones (switch with **Preview roles**). Click the portal name or the headline *inside the preview* to edit them directly — that's where the portal's name and intro text are set. Click **Full preview** to see the whole board, or **Job page** to see a single role.

For the logo, click **Upload logo** (or **Replace logo**) under **Branding**. PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and SVG all work. A wide logo, such as a wordmark, is shown at its full width in place of the board name; a square mark sits beside the name. The logo saves as soon as it uploads.

## Your own domain

To serve the portal from your own domain, enter it in **Custom domain** under **Portal**, save, add the displayed CNAME record at your DNS provider, then click **Verify DNS**. DNS verification can be followed by **Securing domain** while the security certificate is issued. If that status appears, wait a few minutes and verify again. Once the domain is live, the preview address bar shows your domain instead of the Kepler URL. If verification fails, check the saved domain and the displayed CNAME target at your DNS provider before retrying.

## Put the board on your own website

Under **Put it on your website**, enter your site's address in **Your website**, for example `your-agency.com` (the `www.` version is allowed with it). Only the sites you list can show the board. Then choose how your site shows the jobs:

  - **Paste the board into a page** (recommended). Click **Save** in the bar at the bottom of the page, and your code appears under **Copy your code**. Click **Copy code** and paste it into your careers page: on Squarespace, a **Code** block; on WordPress, a **Custom HTML** block; anywhere else, wherever the site takes HTML. The board sits under your own menu and grows to fit. For Squarespace step by step, see [Adding your job board to a Squarespace site](/support/articles/job-board-on-squarespace/).

  - **My developer builds our own job pages**. For a site that imports the jobs feed into its own job pages. The section shows the two addresses to send your developer, the jobs feed and the apply form, each with a copy button. Kepler's copies of the job pages are hidden from Google, so each job shows in search once, on your site. See [Using your own website](/support/articles/portal-api-your-own-website/).

Your choice joins the bar at the bottom of the page, like every other change here.

## When applicants join your CRM

Every applicant the AI doesn't screen out as junk waits for a recruiter on the [Applicants page](/support/articles/review-inbound-applicants/); nobody is added to a pipeline automatically.

## What candidates see

  - **The job list** — your published portal postings, searchable and filterable by location.

  - **Job pages** — the advertised description with an **Apply** form: name, email, phone, location, LinkedIn URL, an optional CV upload, and any screening questions you added to the job.

  - **A confirmation** after applying.

The portal exposes advertised content, not your internal CRM fields. The initial advert can contain text copied from the internal brief, so review the description for client names, fees, salary details and confidential notes before publishing.

Your apply form may also show consent boxes, depending on **Settings → Privacy & consent** → **Job board**. Required storage consent must be ticked before submission; marketing consent is optional. See [Consent & GDPR records](/support/articles/consent-and-gdpr-records/).

## Anti-spam protections

The application form is protected by rate limiting, a hidden honeypot field that traps bots, and 24-hour deduplication of repeat applications from the same email to the same posting. CVs are restricted to PDF/DOC/DOCX up to 10 MB.

> **TIP:** Already have a careers site? You can keep it and power it with Kepler's portal API instead — see Using your own website .
