# AI in Kepler — overview

> Where to use AI in Kepler and how to review its work.

AI in Kepler isn't a chatbot bolted to the side — it's threaded through the workflows where admin time actually goes.

## What AI does across Kepler

| Feature | Where | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Kepler Assistant | Sidebar → Assistant | Chat with your whole CRM — ask questions, pull shortlists, drill into records. Details |
| CV parsing | Candidate documents, imports, applicants | Reads CVs selected for parsing into structured, searchable fields — including your custom attributes. Choose Just store it when you only want to save a document. Details |
| Bulk CV import | Candidates → Add candidate | Uploads many CVs at once and adds clean ones automatically; duplicates and CVs missing a name or contact details wait in the same dialog for you. Details |
| Candidate matching | Job → Matching tab | Judges candidates against a criteria rubric you control, with per-criterion evidence. Details |
| Inbox intelligence | Synced email | Links threads to records and extracts facts worth acting on. |
| Suggested updates | Notifications | Proposes record updates from emails and meetings; you confirm or dismiss each change. |
| Suggested tasks | Tasks & notifications | Turns commitments in conversations into proposed tasks. Details |
| Job description generation | Job → Advertising | Writes or rewrites advertised copy in your house style. Details |
| Applicant scoring | Jobs → Applicants | Scores and badges every portal/LinkedIn applicant on arrival. Details |
| Meeting minutes | AI Note Taker | Transcribes calls and writes structured minutes — shaped by your summary template. |
| Semantic search | Assistant | Finds candidates by meaning, over profiles, CV content and notes — not just keywords. Details |

## The principles

  - **Review at the right step.** Review suggested updates before accepting them. A field set to **Fill blanks** lets AI fill an empty cell on its own, with Undo; a change to a value that is already there always waits for review. Assistant actions follow your workspace approval settings under **Changes the assistant makes** on **Settings → AI**: action types set to **Ask first** need your confirmation, while those set to **Just do it** are applied without a separate confirmation. Where Automations is available, review and test a workflow before publishing: a live automation carries out its configured actions without asking you to approve each run.

  - **Explainable.** Match verdicts come with per-criterion evidence; proposals show their source.

  - **Scoped to your workspace.** AI processing serves your workspace only. See [AI & data privacy](/support/articles/ai-data-privacy/).

## Configuring suggested updates

Configure how a column is filled when you create or edit it: manually, from other fields on the record, or from source content. For source-content suggestions, workspace administrators control the allowed communication sources under **Suggestions on records** on **Settings → AI**; **Settings → AI → Fields** lists every field, built-in ones included, with what it means, what AI fills it from and its rule (**Fill blanks** or **Always ask**). A field without a rule of its own follows the **Default rule** in the Fields section of **Settings → AI**, which is **Fill blanks** unless you change it.
